About OLLW
The Site’s Humble Beginnings
This site is an off-shoot from my main photo technique blog Hyper Photo Cube when I realized that people visiting the blog either wanted one of three things.
- Read my advice about photography
- Read my creative writings
- Get the hell out of there
So I have split the original blog into two parts, so that the feeling of running away was cut in two. :p
Odd Line Lyrical Form
Impress your friends, teachers, and colleagues by using this form of poetry which act much like a story by building up to the climax and descending to the message in the poem. This is my personal form of poetry so if you are blogging about please link back here.
The Form - Official Guide
The poem is an odd number of lines in the poem block (generally only one block is used. but you can use as many blocks as you want. Works well at odd numbered blocks - FYI).
The Sections:
- The Build Up
- The Climax
- The Message
Where as:
- The poem is an odd number of lines
- There are no rhymes in the first section of the block
- The middle line of the block is the climax
- The last section of the block must rhyme with each line in the first section (in reverse order)
Example:
- I ate pie [a]
- Stuff my mouth I did [b]
- Now I am so full it hurts [c]
- Grown [d]
- I’ve expanded my shirt [c]
- Mouth shut like a lid [b]
- So full of lye [a]
Enjoy this new age poetry form!
The Author - Graeme Hay
I write Poems and Short Stories in my free time. I enjoy the simplicity of words as they can build complex structures. I really only write fiction, generally fantasy or science fiction. Some of my work has double meaning can be really odd or warped minded. Most you’ll find is sensible; not point in blogging work other people can’t (or don’t) want to understand.
All work is all copyrights reserved by me, and no reproductions for any reason are allowed unless you have permission by me beforehand. Copying other peoples work is a statutory offense and the penalties are quite high (I think its $25,000 in the US) per offense.
