Making the Bigtime
First is small
Almost not worth noting
Suddenly a big deal
All to Famous
Fangirls squeal
Boys follow doting
They head off to the mall
Don’t be coy
It is only fleeting
Soon a replacement will come
Pictures constantly chance you
Heart as fast a drum
You hear it beating
Longer than a child’s toy

Blogger’s Nightmare
It somehow seemed appropriate, this was my fear when starting the sites.
The Blogger’s Nightmare - Standard Poem
You make a blog and check that stats
See who has wandered into your internet patch
Someone has looked and it feels nice
Oh look look look, they have landed here thrice
Hopes fade
No comments were made
You were hoping for more
You type you blog with your heart on the floor
Day and day go by, you wait for that next visit
Wonder who is it
Hope that they will reply
You hope with that knowing tear in your eye
Do not be fooled by the internet hype
That people will come if you type
That is not the way of things, and hardly you should know
Selling promise of fame is the way go
For the people of talking of fame
They are the one we should blame
Hold heart
Do not let it tear you apart
Hold hand
Experience this new digital land
Hold fast
Your drought in popularity will not last
Tears Away
Shed not
Whimper softly
Do not stir from your retreat
Never act un-firmly
Hide not your sorrow
Which creeps beneath your skin
Watering your pupils
Wanting not to stay in
If you release your tears today
Hollow are thou
Sadness will no longer fear you
Hollow stands in a crowd
Join the many who have weeped
Water the seed which future reaps
Hold up you head
Wipe away the past
Never lasting they fall
Meet the future glad
Clearing your mind while blurry vision calls
The Lighting Rod
Who dares the Norse god’s power with metal spires on high
Direct the flashes in the sky
What once would burn stone to the ground
Is now tamed and transfered down
The metal points save for all
Which otherwise brings blackness to the shawl
Power is mighty for a instance in time
Noise a-shudder cancels out the rythme
A flash of light
Roar of the night
Harmless is now
Tower hit and wetted brow
Silence does return again
Sweet lighting no longer a bane
The Quarry
It is only a pit in the ground, surrounded by the rough edges of jaggedly-cut stone. It was once the earth, true and whole where plants used to grow. I walk into this pit, this mine, and I look at how the sky has claimed it as its own. Towering into the earth it has claimed it’s space; the earth works too slowly to reclaim what is lost.
I touch the ground which is filled with pebbling shards, crushed beneath the machinery that stole its brethren. It is cold and moist from the water trapped by the cavern, falling to the broken ground unable to escape once captured.
There are few animals, and birds stay mainly on the edge shelfs, ever leerily the the earth may one day reclaim what they now call home. A few flutter of wings and they leave me alone, a solo figure in the emptiness below.
I’ve seen it all in minutes, there is not much to see. The air makes for poor imagery being nothing but vapour; the wall nothing but scars. I climb out of the pit, on the same trail that I entered. Never looking back as the sun is beginning to fall. Night captures day, like the sky captures earth. Each never ending but slow at first.
Gremlins in the Trees
Sneaky little things
They hide there waiting for you to appear
Haunt you they will
Fill you with fear
Hidden in the dark
Perched on Branches up high
Staring down at you
With those evil little eyes
Strange little creatures of fantasy
Not truly real
In the minds of the innocent
They make young children squeal
They are harmless you know
Its all in your head
Right before you close your eyes
As you lay in your bed
Back of your mind you still believe
They are in your frighten dreams
Etching away your concise though
Your ears ghosting the screams
Close all the doors
The windows too
Wrap yourself completely in blankets
That what I would do
